For the month of July, Fridays- 11-5, Saturdays and Sundays from 10-6, we are featuring Juan Carlos Pinto: Metro Card mosaic artists extraordinaire. His works focuses on the use of discarded Metro Cards to create striking portraits of revolutionary and iconic figures from John Lennon to Che Guevara. The idea of using these cards was sparked by his protest of the NYC subway fare hike, and his desire to re-use non-biodegradable materials in a powerful and provocative way. Stop by Friday- Sunday and meet and watch Carlos work!
Our inaugural show featured the work of Caroline Hill and includes an eclectic mix of paintings, drawings and collage. Hailing from New Orleans, she currently lives and works in Brooklyn. You can still purchase her work at the ARTery gift shop or visit: www.chillplease.com or facebook.com/chillpleaseart
